Merlin Schwartz
Apr 16, 2018Schwartz, 63, of Huntland, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at his residence. He was born on March 16, 1955, in Fairbank, Iowa, to the late Reuben M. and Elma C. Miller Schwartz. Before his illness, Merlin worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, as well as fishing in his spare time. In addition to his parents, Merlin is preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Goodwin; and brothers, Jacob Schwartz and Daniel Schwartz. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Goodwin of Huntland; children, Tamara Schwartz of Tullahoma, D.J. (Samantha) Schwartz of Ohio, Nancy (Clint) Riddle of Huntland, and Merlin Schwartz Jr. of Huntland; siblings, Henry Schwartz of Hillsboro, Reuben M. (Karen) Schwartz of Chattanooga, Lydia (Dennis) Frye of Rockvale, Cathy (Dave) Austin of Cleveland, Elizabeth Smith of Cleveland, and Lorene Schwartz of Cleveland; and seven grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with the Rev. William Miller and the Rev. Marvin Miller officiating. Interment will follow at McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood.
